According to Public Relations and International Affairs of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Seifollah Haqiqi, deputy director of the Iran Fisheries Organization, said: The Rigo Qeshm fishing quay, at a cost of 13 billion rials, have been created from fish breeding funds at the Sea of the Iran Fisheries Organization, with the aim of facilitating fish farming and building the proper infrastructure for the fishermen in the region.
He added that this fishing quay, with one meter of water drowning, 40 meters long, and a weight bearing capacity of 500 kg / m 2, was built with the knowledge and expertise of domestic experts in the Makin Darya Company of Qeshm.
Haqiqi said that this year there will be 100 billion rials worth credit for the construction of fish-raising infrastructure in the whole country, which has allocated 13 billion riyals to this quay.
Deputy director of the Iran Fisheries Organization, added: The production of Qeshm fish by the year 1400 should reach 80,000 tons per annum, and the creation of this berth is a step in the pursuit of this goal.
Mr. Haghiqi said the construction of another quay of 60 meters in length by the company is foreseen in the Rigo development plan, which will be operational in the near future.
According to the report, the number of thousands of fishermen, with 156 boats and 12 fishing lounches, will benefit from the four villages of Borkeh Khalaf, Zirang, Nakhl-e-Gol, and Rigo.
It is noteworthy that the most prone areas of Hormozgan province have been declared for the implementation of fish farming projects in Qeshm, Bandarlengeh, Jask, Sirik, and Parsian.
